Nathan Hoggatt & Mary Babb Family

Nathan Hoggatt was born in November of 1796, in Green County, Tennessee. He was the son of Anthony and Susannah Hoggatt, natives of North Carolina. Nathan was united in marriage on the 22nd of August, 1820 to Mary Babb, in Greene County, Tennessee. To this union twelve children were born. The first six children were born in Tennessee: Lucinda, 1821; Alexander, October 17, 1822; Alfred, June 17, 1824; James, May 5, 1826; Uriah Harrison, February 25, 1828; and Thena, January 11, 1830.

Sometime between 1830 and 1832, Nathan moved his family to Clinton County, Ohio. There, he and Mary raised six more children: Anthony, March 17, 1832; Seth, August 31, 1834; Nathan, Jr., February 14, 1836; Joseph, March 18, 1838; Tabitha, February 13, 1839; and Mary M., October 5, 1844.

The following photos were found in a wooden box which belonged to Miles Franklin Hoggatt, son of Nathaniel L. Hoggatt and grandson of James Hoggatt. Several of the pictures were taken by "Hockett & Hartsook Studio," from Marion, Grant County, Indiana.

Alexander was the s/o Nathan Hoggatt and Mary Babb, and Mary was the d/o Jacob Rhonemus & Hannah Sophia Cluster.	Unknown Hockett & Hartsook Studio Marion, Grant County, Indiana No name on photo.
