Willard 'Willi' Hemphill, b. 17 Nov. 1820, PA., enlisted at Barboursville, Jefferson Co., IN., served as Sergeant in the 82nd Regmt., Co. 'C', Indiana Volunteer Infantry, (age 64 years in this photo as inscribed on the back in his own hand), married Polly Ann Richardson on 11 May 1845 in Ohio Co., IN. 'Willi' died 21 Feb. 1906, Rising Sun, IN., found there in the 1860 census, pg.504.
