John B. Francis, b. 2 May 1800, Glasgow, Scotland, d. 24 July 1882 in Somerset, Pulaski Co., KY., buried Caledonia Cem., Shelby Township, Jefferson Co., IN. He was a weaver.

He married Jannet Thomson 27 May 1824 Glasgow, Lanark, Scotland. Jannet was born circa 1802 in Scotland and died 28 Feb. 1877 in Shelby Township, Jeff. Co. IN, buried Caledonia Cemetery. They lived much of their American life in Shelby Township, Jefferson Co., IN, and had 5 children.

John Francis, Jr., son of John and Jannet Thomson Francis, b. 8 Aug. 1824 Scotland, d. 20 April 1905 Shelby Township, Jefferson Co., IN., married first to Elizabeth Neeley, and second to Mary Jane Mathews 23 Oct. 1856. John & Mary Jane are both buried at Brushy Fork Cemetery.
