Brown Graveyard
Sec. 3 Twp. 4N Range 11E
Milton Township, Jefferson County
Transcribed by Robert W. Scott
The John Paul DAR transcriptions show this "farm is now owned by Martin Brown–land entered by Johnson Brown in 1833." This is shown (but not named) on the Jefferson County road map in the NW1/2 of Section 3. This cemetery is
off Turkey Branch Road via Goat Mountain Road. Notes in parentheses are apparently by the DAR.
- Brown, Johnston 1760-1869. Revolutionary Soldier b. in Mifflin Co., Pa..
No Stone..d. Oct. 13, 1869. [Although the DAR transcriber made this note, researchers Al and Margaret Spiry have demonstrated that Johnston's report that he was a Revolutionary war solider and the claim he lived to 109 as a complete fabrication.]
