Lee Cemetery
Sec. 34 Twp. 5N Range 11E
Shelby Township
Lee Cemetery. Pictures by Ruth A. Hoggatt, Sep 1, 2000.
This has also been called the Buchanan Cemetery, but that apparently stems from
the fact that the land around it was owned by Herbert "Happy" Buchanan,
whose mother was a Lee. This cemetery is just north of Lones Hill Road. (Also
called Jackson Hill by some) and is slightly north and east of Mt. Pleasant
Baptist Church. As transcribed by the John Paul DAR.- Robert W. Scott

Lee Graveyard Directions & Additions, by Jackie Owen:
From Canaan take Hwy 62 west, at first bend (less than one quarter mile out of Canaan) go straight onto Halls Ridge Road. Follow Halls Ridge to Lonnis Hill Road. (it will be the 2nd road on left after getting off of 62) Turn left, the graveyard is less than a mile on the north side of the road on the property of George Backus. (6113 E. Lonnis Hill Road) Unless there is something tall growing in the field you can see the graveyard from the road.
