Morris Chapel CemeteryMilton Township, Jefferson County, Indiana
By Robert W. Scott
The cemetery is located just upstream from Brooksburg. To reach it, take State Road 56 East towards Vevay. After the Indian-Kentuck Creek, take the second right, Splinter Ridge Road. The cemetery is on a lane, an immediate right from this road. The graveyard is currently mowed and in good repair. The 1941 published transcriptions by the John Paul Chapter DAR omitted the stones for many children and infants. This transcription, using the DAR readings as a starting point, offers information on 125 more persons. In some cases, the DAR included maiden names which are not on the stones, but were known to the transcribers. Information in quotes, “” is on the stones. Information in brackets are my comments. Multiple inscriptions on a single stone are indicated by having multiple names follow a single surname. Transcriptions done on July 11, 2002.
