Shelby Township, South of Hicks.
Section 1 Town 5N Range 11 E.

by Robert W. Scott

The three inscriptions recorded by the John Paul DAR are all on one stone, described as being broken at the time. The stone was still standing in the 1970s, on the south side of the road.

  • Hall, Mary M. 1837-Sept. 30, 1876
  • Risk, John J. d. July 15, 1882, age79 yrs
  • Risk, William H .H. Apr. 4,1858-May 5, 1883
Risk, Dorcas. The DAR did not record her stone. But in a visit about 1971, I recorded her name as being on the stone, but with no death date. She lived 1813/14-1 Apr. 1891. Her death is recorded in the Jefferson Co. Health Department.
