This Day Thomas T Stribling Sheriff of the county aforesaid filed his
protest against the Jail of this County which was ordered to be filed.

Where upon the Commissioners proceeded to lay of[f] a Township which is
known and designated by the name of Grayham which is bounded & Discribed
as follows (Towit) Beginning at the corner of Jennings County at the range
line

one mile South Thence North with the section line to the County line
Dividing Jefferson & Jennings Counties To hold the Elections at the
House of Thomas Roseberry Senr on the first Monday of March Next for
Two Justices of the peace. And, Zachariah Tannehill [or Taunehill] is
appointed Inspector of Election for said Township.
board also proceeded to Lay of[f] Pittsburgh Township which is bounded &
Described as follows Towit, Beginning At the line of Switzerland County
Two miles East of the south East corner of Section No 13 In Township
four range Eleven East Thence west with the section line until you strike
the creek thence up the creek with the Meanders thereof so as to include
John Griffin thence with that section line west one mile to the range line
thence north with the range line to the County line Pittsburgh is
Designated and appointed the place of holding Elections for said Township-
It is further ordered that there be an Election held in said Township for
the first Monday of March next for the purpose of Electing two Justices of
the peace for said Township
David Talbott is appointed as Inspector of Elections for said Township
is ordered that there be an Election held in the Township of Lexington on
the first Monday of March next for the purpose of electing three Justices
of the peace.

It is ordered that Jacob Cullen be appointed Inspector for the Township
of Lexington Township
It is ordered by the Commissioners that there be an Election held in the
Township of Saluda on the first Monday of March next for the purpose
of Electing two Justices of the peace for said Township---
It is further ordered that Franklin Perry be appointed Inspector of
Election for said Township
It is Ordered by the board that there be an Election In the Township of
Madison on Saturday the 22nd Inst for three Justices of the peace for
said Township It is further ordered that Jesse Gray be appointed
Inspector of Elections for said Township
Ordered that Nathaniel Hunt Esquire be allowed fifty Eight Dollars for his
No 1 services as an associate for the year 1816--------------------58.00

County line where Shannons road crosses the same thence with Lexington
Township line thence until you pass the center of Township three range nine
thence East with the said line to the Ohio river thence Down the river to
the county line thence to the place of Begginning-- It is further ordered
that New London be appointed the place of holding Elections for said
Township--
On the Petition of Saml McKinley & others for the appointment of Inspectors
of Tobacco &c At the mouth of great Saluda which was ordered to be filed
among the records of this board & Laid over for further Consideration

Lexington Township is known & Designated by the following bounds (Towit)
Beginning where the Shannons Road crosses the county line then with said
road crossing fourteen Mile Creek to the head thereof Thence with the
center of the s__h dividing the waters of white river & the ohio river
to the south East corner of section 21. Township three range nine E
Thence one mile further thence W. with the section line to Smocks fork
thence down the creek to Grayham T. past the north west corner of
Grayham Township thence with the said Township line to the county line
thence with the county line to the place of Beginning --- Lexington is
appointed the place of holding Elections for said Township ---
Madison Township is known & Designated and bounded as follows - Towit-
Beginning on the Ohio river where the county of Jeffsn strikes the river
Thence with the the County line until it strikes the line of Pittsburg
Township thence with the line of said Township to the Corner of Grayham
Township line thence with the last mentioned Township line until until
It strike Lexington Township line thence with said line until it stikes
Saluda Township line thence with said last mentioned Township line to the
Ohio river thence up said river with the meanders thereof to the place of

of Salluda but is not to proceed to Discharge his duty under this
appointment until further orders -- on the subject-

Lancaster Township Beginning at the Grayham Township line at the nearest
part to Willis Sullivans Thence on a Straight to divide the ___t woods
Between Ramseys Settlement & Lorings [or Lorys] Settlement until it
strikes the Section line in the Center of the ___t woods Between
Andrew Youngs James Edwards Thence to cross Harberts Creek Just Below

on the third Monday of this Inst And It Is further ordered that Richard
Cosby be appointed Inspector of Election for said Township
Ordered that there be an Election held in the Several Townships throughout
the County on the first Monday of April for the purpose of Electing two
Justices of the peace for the Town of Madison who are to reside there in &
It is further ordered that a copy of this order be published in the Indiana
republished for three weeks successively.
Ordered that the Sheriff procure a Shutter to the upper Door of the jail
