GEO. HOUSEFIELD DEAD
West Main Street Resident Dies After Long Illness.

Mr. George Diedrich Housefield, 82, died last night at 8:45 p.m. at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Ling THOMAS, 926 west Main street, after several months of ill health.

Born in Ohio, a son of the late John and Eliza Housefield, Mr. Housefield came to Jefferson county as a young man and was engaged for many years in farming, but his later years were spent on west Main street. He was married to Josephine CONNETT in 1887, and to this union were born three daughters, Mrs. William DUKE, of Indianapolis; Mrs. Ling THOMAS, and Mrs. Ross ANDERSON of Lancaster, all of whom survive, together with their mother.

Mr. and Mrs. Housefield celebrated their golden anniversary last April. He had been a member of the old German Lutheran church in this city for many years but, in recent years he attended the West Madison M.E. church.

Besides his wife and daughters, he leaves seven grandchildren, William and Mildred THOMAS, Indianapolis; Olive and Helen THOMAS, of this city; William DUKE of Indianapolis; George and Jolane ANDERSON, of Lancaster; two brothers William and John Housefield, city, and five sisters, Mrs. Minnie BLATCH, of Wirt; Mrs. Mary OEHLER, Ludlow, Ky.; Mrs. Elizabeth SEILER, Keypahah, South Dakota; Mrs. Clara STEARNS, of Butlerville, and Mrs. Maggie WATKIN [sic Watkins], of Indianapolis.

Friends may call at the Thomas residence on west Main street to view the remains until the time of the funeral.

The funeral will be held Sunday at 2:00 p.m. at Lytle's funeral home and burial will be in Springdale cemetery. Friends may call at the Thomas residence until 10:00 a.m. Sunday.

Serve at Last Rites

Funeral services for Mrs. Josephine HOUSEFIELD who died at Indianapolis Saturday morning at the home of her daughter, Mrs. William DUKE, were held this afternoon at the Lytle Funeral Home at 2:00 o'clock. Pallbearers were: Lloyd BROWNING, William THOMAS, Dr. John LING, Gilbert REARDON, Geo. ANDERSON and Glen HOUSEFIELD. The minister was Rev. Lawrence COOPER, of North Madison, and burial was in Springdale cemetery.
