Per LDS IGI, a John Duffy was christened 31 Aug 1772 at Donaghmore in Co. Tyrone, Ireland, ans was son of John and Margaret ("Margtt") Duffy. We are tentatively entering this info (with "??") as the time and place match.
Per family Bible, John Duffy came from County Tyrone, Ireland to PA. However, we suspected that at one point, he evidently lived in Ohio, since according to our Rawlings Bible (filled in circa 1880), his son James was born there in either 1797-1798 or 1800-1801. The OH location is also recorded in the 1850 IN census, and 1880 IN census for daughter Keziah. However, the Wallace MS indicates that John Duffy Sr and his family lived in PA until 1814, when they moved to Maysville, KY, across the Ohio River from Adams Co and Brown Co OH. It seems likely (thjopugh not yet proven) that James was born in PA, and married an Eleanor Latta in Adams Co OH on 12 Feb 1818, as per Adams Co Marriage Records at the OH state library.
Furthermore, according to the Latta Genealogy on the Internet, "Elenora" Latta married a "Mr. Duffy" and then died, 7 Spe 1838, leaving 6 children. The source of this information is not stated, and we have had no success trying to contact the Webmaster of the Latta Genealogy website so far.

John Duffy (twice on same page). However...In the 1820 PA census, Butler Co., Clearfield (adjacent to Buffalo Twp. in Armstrong Co.), page 126, are John Duffy and John Duffy Jr. Since by then both are in Indiana, these Pennsylvanians apparently are unrelated Duffys.
