Poll Book of an Election held at the Home Post Office Milton Township
Jefferson County Indiana Nov. 7th 1840 for the purpose of electing a
Justice of the Peace of the said township. Transcribed from originals
once in the possession of the Jefferson Co. Historical Society, last
seen in the Madison Library. The numbers on the original voting list,

office in Milton Township on the 7th day of November 1840 for the purpose
of Electing a Justice of the peace in said Township do hereby certify that
Stovall Wilkins Recd Ninety Eight votes for the above named office and
Franklin Joyce Recd seventy one for the same office.
