Richard Henry Lee Housefield Obituary

Madison Courier: Richard Henry Lee Kiser, son of William and Mary Lane (Lame) Kiser a pioneer family of Indiana, was born in Jefferson county, Indiana, September 2, 1851.
On August 10, 1875 he was married to Manerva Ann East of Bryantsburg. To this union seven children were born. three sons:george, Frank, and Charley; four daughters, Eva who preceded him to the grave a number of years, Grace, Lauriscie and Fay.
In the year 1888 he united by fellowship with the Indian Kentucky Baptist church of which he was a member at the time of his death. At the age of nineteen he began blacksmithing and worked steadily at his trade until a few days ago.
He spent his entire life in the county of his birth and died at his home in Canaan, September 15, 1928 at the age of 77 years and 13 days.
He was a man with a pleasing personality and will be missed by a host of relatives and friends.
Funeral services were held at Hebron church, Monday morning and he was laid to rest in a part of the original plot of ground deeded to the Hebron church for a cemetery by his grandfather, Mr. Joseph Lame, who entered the claim from the government and built the first frame house in Jefferson county.
